Global Vital Signs Monitoring Devices Market to Grow 6.81% by 2020 - Segmentation by Product & End User - Research and Markets

[28-October-2016]

DUBLIN, October 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Global Vital Signs Monitoring Devices Market 2016-2020" report to their offering.

The report forecasts the global vital signs monitoring market to grow at a CAGR of 6.81% during the period 2016-2020.

The report has been prepared based on an in-depth market analysis with inputs from industry experts. The report covers the market landscape and its growth prospects over the coming years. The report also includes a discussion of the key vendors operating in this market.

Vendors are bundling two or more products or services to achieve product differentiation and provide better products. For example, along with vital signs monitors, vendors are offering accessories for patients to monitor their blood pressure levels. Patients consider using such packaged offerings to individual products as they prove to be cost-effective. In addition, vendors have started offering personal testing kits that include blood pressure monitors, thermometers, blood glucose monitors, and pulse oximeters. There is a significant gain in popularity worldwide. This marketing strategy has helped various vendors to take competitive advantage. This trend is expected to show a strong impact on the market growth during the forecast period.

Further, the report states that the market is highly competitive with the presence of a few established vendors and many new and small companies. Both global and local vendors offer a wide range of ambulatory blood pressure monitors, most of which are similar in design and technology. Global companies invest significantly in marketing, promotion, and improvement of their brand quality to gain profit margins.

However, the intense competition in the market leads to price wars. This causes global vendors to lower the average selling prices of their devices to compete for high volume and low-cost sales agreements. Vendors also offer discounts, which further contribute to market competition. As a result, vendors, particularly leading companies, are operating on low-profit margins.

  • Medtronic
  • Philips Healthcare
  • Smiths Medical
  • Welch Allyn

Acrylic Fibre Market Revenues to Grow Moderately Through 2026

[28-October-2016]

VALLEY COTTAGE, New York, October 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Future Market Insights delivers key insights on the global acrylic fibre market in a new publication titled "Acrylic Fibre Market: Global Industry Analysis and Opportunity Assessment, 2016 - 2026". Major demand for acrylic fibre is expected to come from Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, and Latin America over the forecast period and the global acrylic fibre market is projected to reach a market value of US$ 6,197.82 Mn by 2026 end, registering a CAGR of 3.6% over the forecast period.

The global acrylic fibre market is segmented on the basis of dyeing method, fibre form, blending, end-use and region. As the demand for acrylic fibres is stagnant in the developed economies of North America and Western Europe, significant opportunity for growth in the global acrylic fibre market lies in the regions of APEJ, Latin America, and Middle East & Africa.

Acrylic fibres possess good aesthetic properties owing to their capability to accept multi-colour dyes in clear, bright and muted tones. They impart natural aesthetics to fabrics as opposed to their nylon and polyester counterparts. Also, acrylic fibres have excellent resistance to ultraviolet degradation, weak alkalis, and microbiological attack. Due to such physical, chemical, and thermo-biological characteristics, acrylic fibres are becoming popular in their use by blending with other materials such as wool, cotton, polyester etc. Moreover, acrylic fibres are used in various end-use industries such as apparels, home furnishing etc. With macroeconomic development of these end-use industries supported by regional GDP and population growth, the demand for acrylic fibres is further expected to increase, specifically in the Asia Pacific region over the coming years. In addition, sporadic supply of wool and cotton at a global level is pushing! manufacturers to blend acrylic fibre with wool and cotton for use in the manufacture of products such as blankets, sweaters, etc.

Request a Sample Report with Table of Contents: http://www.futuremarketinsights.com/reports/sample/rep-gb-2032

Upswing in acrylic fibre raw material prices is forcing manufacturers across the globe to use its substitutes such as polyester, nylon, cellulose etc. for various applications. These substitutes have economic advantage over acrylic fibre due to better raw material availability, large scale production, and recyclability. Owing to this, acrylic fibre manufacturers across the globe are facing significant challenges to sustain in the market. Production units are terminating in developed regions such as U.S and Europe owing to strong inter-fibre competition, especially from polyester fibres. Moreover, U.S. and Europe are suffering under rising competition from Asian imports of acrylic fibre and its finished products. These factors are likely to restrain the growth of the global acrylic fibre market.

Segmentation highlights

  • Global acrylic fibre market is segmented on the basis of dyeing method, fibre form, blending, end-use and region. On the basis of dyeing method, the global acrylic fibre market is segmented into acid, gel, and undyed. The gel dyeing segment is estimated to register a CAGR of 3.8% over the forecast period. The gel dyeing segment is estimated to dominate the global acrylic fibre market, with 56.5% market revenue share, valued at US $ 2,450.99 Mn by 2016 end.
  • On the basis of fibre form, the global acrylic fibre market is segmented into staple and filament. The staple fiber segment is estimated to dominate the global acrylic fiber market, with more than 61.37% market revenue share, valued at US $ 2,658.11 Mn by 2016 end.
  • On the basis of blending, the global acrylic fibre market is segmented into wool, cotton, and others. The cotton blending segment is anticipated to register a CAGR of 3.7% over the forecast period.
  • On the basis of end use, the global acrylic fibre market is segmented into apparels, home furnishing, industrial, and outdoor. The apparels end-use segment is projected to register a CAGR of 3.6% over the forecast period, creating significant incremental opportunity between 2016 and 2026.

Regional market projections

The global acrylic fibre market is segmented into seven key regions namely, North America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ), Japan, Latin America, and Middle East & Africa. In terms of market value, the APEJ acrylic fibre market is projected to increase at a value CAGR of 4.4% over the forecast period, while markets in Japan, U.S., and Europe are expected to register a below average CAGR. Growth in the APEJ acrylic fibre market is largely attributed to growing use of acrylic fibre for various applications along with macroeconomic growth of a population driven textile industry i! n the region.

Some key players in the global acrylic fibre market are Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayii A.Ş. (Aksa), Dralon, Aditya Birla Group, Jilin Chemical Fiber Group Company, TAEKWANG INDUSTRIAL CO. LTD., Exlan Japan Co. Ltd., Kaneka Corporation, Indian Acrylics Limited, Pasupati Acrylon Ltd., and Vardhman Acrylics Ltd. From Stroke Survivor to Stroke Thriver - What We All Need to Know

[28-October-2016]

LONDON, October 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

With good care and rehabilitation, there is life after stroke.

As you read this, today on World Stroke Day, around the world and in all walks of life, stroke survivors are leaving hospitals feeling like they have little or no support. They feel scared and alone as they face a long road to recovery and don't know where to turn for help and guidance. It is life-changing stuff - not just for the survivor, but for their family and friends as well. Everything changes in that moment and each year millions of us are affected in some way or another. But for the countless survivors who are facing this challenge right now, help is at hand.

     (Photo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20161024/432371 )

Stroke can strike even those you might think are 'too young', just ask the author of Two Strokes Not Out, Sas Freeman, who has experienced not one but two strokes in her forties. Sas Freeman's advice, released freely on audiobook today, reveals crucial first-hand experience on how to not just survive but to potentially thrive following a stroke.

"Shortly after my stroke I hit rock bottom. Overnight, I lost all my independence, my identity as I'd known it. Stroke left me feeling I had no one to turn to, no one to ask how to come out of this - it really was a daunting, scary experience," said Sas Freeman.

Today is World Stroke Day and there's few people better placed than Sas to give practical advice to people who've experienced a stroke, as well as their families and carers, on how to cope and recover. Her audiobook, beautifully narrated by Sas herself, includes heartfelt counsel and practical advice from someone who knows. She shares her own experiences as well as much-needed information and guidance with tips like:

  • For the family: Bring photographs of happy occasions and places to the hospital to have at the bedside. Ask staff to take any children aside separately and explain what is happening and encourage them to ask questions. Make sure you have all the questions answered before the survivor comes home
  • For the carer: Your well-being is important, for you as well as for the person you care for, so look after yourself. Try to organise the day so that you have at least a little time to yourself. Ask family or friends for help with specific tasks
  • For the survivor: Make home videos of your recovery so you can witness your own progress. Celebrate any and all achievements - it doesn't matter how big or small, everything that you achieve is a testament to your hard work

With this audiobook, Sas hopes to reach even more people through her gently spoken words, like those who are in a coma but able to hear or those who are unable to read because they have lost the ability, may not be able to turn the pages or can't see the text.

Biggest Pumpkin in Britain Set for Halloween Harvest

[28-October-2016]

LONDON, October 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Little did the gardeners at online garden centre Gardening Express know that the tiny seed planted earlier this year would turn out to be what is thought to be Britain's biggest pumpkin. Expected to weigh as much as 2000lbs, it is certainly suitable to take any would be Cinderella to the ball.

     (Photo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20161028/433888 )

Owner Chris Bonnett planted the seed in early May and told staff to expect something big, "but no one knew we could have a record breaker on our hands," as growth of the plant took off, the gargantuan gourd seemed to have Jack and the Beanstalk like properties. At one point you could see the leaves and stalks increasing in size day by day. "When the fruit set in the middle of August it was growing so fast we think it must have been packing on over 50lbs a day!"

A few weeks ago at the beginning of October there was a contest to find the biggest pumpkin grown in the UK this year, but as ours was still growing we decided not to cut its umbilical cord and let it keep going.

The UK outdoor grown record was set at around 1300lbs, but not wanting to take anything away from the great efforts of the grower, it doesn't even look like a pumpkin! Everyone knows a proper pumpkin is orange in colour, that one was kind of cream, and we think a related species known as a squash. Ours sport the traditional orange colouration, although it is not fully ripe as yet, you can see it has a proper Essex perma-tan, grown in sunny Chelmsford! "If you took it down Brentwood high street, this would not look out of place in an episode of TOWIE," joked Mr Bonnett.

We will harvest it on Halloween and take it to the local Kinder Garden for all the little ghosts and ghouls to take their pictures with - they are really excited! Once they've finished with it, we will get it weighed in to see if it has broken the weight record, if you give it a tap it sounds really dense and heavy, so we are pretty sure it's going to be a record breaker.

We have a tractor and crane ready to help lift the beast, which has been grown using organic traditional methods, so if there are any chefs out there that fancy an attempt at the most pumpkin pies produced from one pumpkin, we are ready and up for it!

Next year, we hope to give away the seeds to any one that fancies a grow themselves, and maybe we will hold our own competition - of course, you will have to have a proper orange pumpkin to enter though!

There will be plenty of photo and filming opportunities on harvest day for anyone interested.

The study supports stevia's naturality and found all nine of the steviol glycoside molecules required by the specifications set by the Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), a committee jointly administered by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO), were present and unchanged in the dried stevia leaf, through the commercial extraction and purification process and in the final stevia leaf extract product.

This research looked at three separate batches of stevia leaf that went through commercial production to final product, the 95 percent purity stevia leaf extract. The study samples were provided by PureCircle and each of the three, commercial batches included the dried stevia leaf, the first water extract and the final product from each of the three corresponding leaf samples. The research found that the stevia leaf extract end products were of 95 percent purity, which is required by JECFA. This is the first time a study has examined steviol glycosides from multiple commercial stevia leaf samples through different stages in the extraction and purification process, starting with the leaf and ending with the stevia sweetener end product.

This study used well-known analytical techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in combination with C18 and/or hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) columns to separate, identify and quantify the individual steviol glycoside molecules.

"Finding the same nine steviol glycoside molecules unchanged in the stevia leaf, the water extract and in the final product confirms that the commercial extraction and purification process of high purity stevia leaf extract does not alter the sweet steviol glycoside molecules in the leaf," said Dr. Ursula Wölwer-Rieck, the scientist at the University of Bonn, Germany who conducted the stevia research. "Showing that it is unchanged is important in this whole naturality debate because there are people who still call into question the naturality of high purity stevia leaf extract."

Dr. Wölwer-Rieck is a well-known stevia expert and a tenured academic Councilor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at the University of Bonn. She is also a board member of the European Stevia Association (EUSTAS) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Global Stevia Institute. As a food chemist her academic research has focused on steviol glycosides and she has published papers on their analysis and stability in food.

"For us, this study supports something that we have believed all along," said Dr. Priscilla Samuel, Director of the Global Stevia Institute. "That the sweet molecules of high purity stevia leaf sweetener are the same sweet molecules in the leaf and have the ability to completely change the way we sweeten foods and beverages. So many people today want that zero-calorie sweetness from a natural source and this research supports its naturality from the leaves through the finished product."

These research findings will be presented this weekend during the 15th International Conference on Food Processing & Technology by Dr. Wölwer-Rieck.

DOHA, Qatar, October 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Remaining competitors on flagship media initiative of Qatar Foundation shift focus to customer validation stage in eighth episode on MBC4

Stars of Science innovations have sparked a groundswell of activity on the show's social media channels, driving interest in science and technology around the Arab world as the program enters this season's seventh week. Since launching season 8, the show has been receiving positive feedback and words of encouragement for highlighting that given the right tools, support and environment, Arab innovators can thrive.

Stars of Science inspires the next generation of problem solvers across the Arab world by introducing young people to innovation and entrepreneurship. Over its seven seasons, Qatar Foundation's flagship 'edutainment' reality TV show has encouraged thousands to discover science and technology. The show has been the starting point for dozens of impactful inventions as well as the accelerator for the careers of many Arab entrepreneurs. Alumni of Stars of Science have incorporated 21 companies and raised over nine million dollars in funding to support the development of their projects.

In yesterday's final prototyping episode, Sevag Babikan of Lebanon, Saif Al Farai of Oman and Yazi Alalo of Syria presented their innovations, designed to solve real life problems. For Yazi, a pharmaceuticals graduate and new mother, family safety is top of mind. Her project, "foodi," aimed to take the guesswork out of knowing whether fish was suitable for human consumption. Her invention offers an indicator aimed to facilitate food safety, and also reduce food waste.

Meanwhile, Saif is motivated to use his mechatronics skills in order to expand the amount of Arabic written material available to the blind and visually impaired. "Baseer," his invention, reads Arabic text using special technology and instantly converts it to Braille, opening up a whole world of literature that previously was inaccessible to a wide range of people.

Sevag, a mechanical engineer, wants to revolutionize the world of 3D printing with "modifix." The device could be a breakthrough for the industry because it streamlines the way 3D printers make complicated structures, resulting in faster, more innovative 3D printing.

Following a heated debate - Sevag pulled ahead of his two rivals, garnering top marks with Yazi falling short behind Saif.  The Syrian pharmacist will not be forgotten by her many fans who got to know the hard working mum and her daughter Emma.

"I am used to encountering adversity," said Yazi after the episode. "Stars of Science has been an experience that rewards perseverance, hard work and dedication to your craft. If anything, despite my elimination, participating in the show has given me new doses of motivation to continue my work and tackle challenges that all families face, like food safety. I will always look back on my time with Stars of Science with pride and endless gratitude for Qatar Foundation giving us this once in a lifetime opportunity to learn and grow as innovators, scientists and entrepreneurs."

On Saturday, November 5th, Ahmad Elkhatat, Sevag Babikan and Ghassan Yousef will compete for two finalist spots during the customer validation episode. On November 12th, Abderrahim Bourouis, Saif Al Farai and Sadeem Qdaisat will try to avoid elimination as the two remaining finalists will be determined. The final four innovators will earn a share of a $600,000 prize based on jury and online public voting in the finale episode.

The next episode airs on Saturday, November 5th at 10:30pm KSA/ 7:30pm GMT on MBC4.

Frost & Sullivan Applauds ReNi's Market Success Born of its Unique Big Data Analytics-based Approach to Enterprise Agility

[31-October-2016]

ReNi's broad domain expertise and technological skills attract business from a variety of end-user industries

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, Oct. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the Big Data analytics (BDA) market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes ReNi Analytics (ReNi) with the 2016 North America Frost & Sullivan Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award. ReNi Analytics is breaking down silos in business practices and enhancing enterprise agility by leveraging its wide multi-domain expertise and technical knowhow in BDA. It delivers processes for the complex enterprise environment through ReNi Egility™, a framework that enables enterprises to make more informed and faster decisions in every aspect of their business.

"ReNi Egility™ features a data lake and deep learning capabilities with predictive identification of events and opportunities," said Frost & Sullivan's Global Senior Director, Mukul Krishna. "The business rules management capability offers decision agility concerning the economic impact, while microservices provide 'engagement agility' by allowing new systems to engage with customers, suppliers, partners and employees during the decision-making process."

ReNi Analytics boasts domain expertise in retail, consumer goods and e-commerce; travel, hospitality and leisure; banking, financial services, and insurance; healthcare and life sciences; aerospace, automotive and industrial; and finally, telecommunications, media and technology. This vast and varied experience enables the company to apply the working framework to the business processes that need it the most.

The company also makes the most of its BDA technology expertise in areas such as the Hadoop ecosystem, R, Python, and Java, as well as its business consulting expertise in sales and marketing, supply chain and customer service. In each of its engagements, ReNi uses a combination of Hadoop suite of tools, R, visualization tools such as Tableau and Qlikview, enterprise systems expertise, and the Cloud infrastructure to deliver the business process agility that is critical to its clients.

ReNi follows a strict business process, wherein it first maps out the analytic and business objective and then determines the data source requirements (sales, revenue, reports, consumer information) to meet the objective.

"Without disrupting the IT initiatives in place at the enterprise, ReNi completely prepares the data in the required framework and format for plugging into the appropriate technology," noted Krishna. "This way, ReNi transforms 'descriptive' analytics to 'prescriptive' analytics to alter a business process or decision. Finally, this new algorithm, insight or result integrates into the existing business process."

Despite its relative market nascence, ReNi has optimally tapped its resources to win contracts with Fortune 500 companies and fostered valuable partnerships with technology companies such as HortonWorks. The ReNi Egility™ framework particularly enjoys success in the retail, financial, and technology industries, having delivered outstanding value in the form of revenue growth, cost savings or asset productivity improvement to top- and mid-tier companies in each of these verticals.

Frost & Sullivan analysis indicates the company's uniqueness in tailoring BDA solutions and products to the customer as a great asset will go a long way in enhancing ReNi Analytics' position in the market.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in devising a strong growth strategy and robustly implementing it. The recipient has shown strength in terms of innovation in products and technologies, leadership in customer value as well as speed in response to market needs. In short, the award looks at the emerging market players in the industry and recognizes their best practices that are positioned for future growth excellence.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.

CEO Pooran C. Pandey Appointed to the Boards of Trustees of the World Food Programme for India

[31-October-2016]

BERLIN, October 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

"I feel very honoured to join the Board of Trustees of the World Food Programme (WFP). My position as CEO at the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC) and my contribution to the WFP will bring a valuable asset to both organisations, connecting research with practical advice", says DOC CEO Pooran Chandra Pandey.

"Members of the Board expressed a keen and unanimous desire to request Pooran Chandra Pandey's valuable contribution in view of his expertise, his experience in public service, and his commitment towards promoting food security and removal of poverty", states Rita Sarin, Country Director of The Hunger Project India.

Joining Rita Sarin are Prof Swaminathan, known as the father of the Green Revolution in India and holder of the World Food Prize, and Neela Gangadharan, Former Chief Secretary to the government. The Trust offers advice without distinction based on any caste, creed, colour, race, religion, language, nationality, or gender and without any profit motive.

The purpose of the Trust is to reduce poverty, hunger, and malnutrition for the most disadvantaged sections of the population in India, especially women and children. Its mission relates to the distribution of food. The Trust was chaired by the Former Indian Prime Minister I.K. Gujral for several years.

The Dialogue of Civilizations supports the commitment of Pooran C. Pandey in the WFP Board of Trusts as it goes in-line with the principles of the Institute to reduce potentials of conflict situations in the world.

About DOC RI:

Rooted in a tradition of seeking dialogue-based solutions to humankind's most pressing issues, Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute builds on the work and achievements of its predecessor organization, the World Public Forum Dialogue of Civilizations, bringing together global thought leaders from academia, public policy, business and civil society to debate and develop practice-based policy advice.

The roots of the organization date back to 9 November 2001, following an initiative by Iranian leader Mohammad Khatami, when UNESCO Member States unanimously adopted the 'UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity' and the UN General Assembly presented its Global Agenda for Dialogue among civilisations, setting out the principles of intercultural dialogue to be defended and objectives to be achieved. The World Public Forum Dialogue of Civilizations emerged as a practical endeavour to implement this initiative, and has since evolved into what is today Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute.
